Tensor Planet
Heavy equipment and vocational fleets

A machine parked on site is not a machine working.

Low annual miles, high engine hours and duty cycles that punish aftertreatment harder than highway running. Tensor Planet flags the units heading for a shutdown.

What makes a construction fleet harder to maintain

Hours do the damage, not miles

A unit with 40,000 miles can have the engine hours of one with 200,000. Mileage-based PM schedules miss that completely, and so does most maintenance reporting.

Idle-heavy work fouls aftertreatment

Long idle periods keep exhaust temperatures too low for a clean regen, and the derate lands mid-pour. Exhaust upkeep has climbed from about $400 a truck a year to over $2,400 since DPFs.

One breakdown stops the whole site

Crews, subcontractors and a schedule are all waiting. Unplanned breakdowns drive 45% of project delays and 65% of total maintenance spend, averaging $185,000 per machine a year.

Substitution is expensive and slow

Getting a replacement unit to a remote site takes a day you do not have. A crane rental alone can run over $10,000 a day, so a single day of downtime blows the budget.

Shipped coverage

What we cover today

Engine and aftertreatment systems. Hydraulics and body equipment are on the roadmap and are not covered today. On a construction fleet that matters, so we would rather say it here than in month two.

  • DPF soot load and inlet-pressure decay under high-idle duty
  • DEF dosing faults
  • EGR valve and cooler degradation
  • NOx sensor drift
  • Engine coolant behavior
  • Battery and cranking voltage on equipment that sits between jobs
  • ...and many other systems

One week, your own data, no buy commitment.

We read your telematics and six months of work orders, then hand back the vehicles at risk and what they would cost you. Your team does nothing while it runs.

Before you ask

The questions on your mind.

How is Tensor Planet different from telematics systems?

Telematics systems show vehicle location, safety events, and fault codes. Tensor Planet works with your telematics data to predict failures weeks before they happen. We tell you what’s likely to fail, why, and what action to take.

How long does implementation take?

Most fleets can start seeing first alerts within 1 to 3 weeks after data access, with predictions improving as the model tunes to fleet patterns.

We already do preventive maintenance. Why do we need this?

Fixed-interval PMs treat every vehicle the same. We use each vehicle’s sensor data and repair history to catch issues between PMs and flag repairs only when needed.
